Vincent C. Dorsett, Deacon, Lake Ida Church of Christ
Vincent Clifford Dorsett joined Lake Ida Church of Christ in February 2000; he was ordained Deacon in 2004 under the leadership of Dr. Cecil L. Spivey. Vincent graduated from Bethune Cookman University, Daytona Beach, Florida, earning a BS degree in History. Vincent worked for Health and Rehabilitative Services in St. Petersburg and Tampa, Florida, Supervisor for Juvenile Justice and Aging and Adult Services then retired after 25 years. After relocating to Palm Beach County, Vincent worked as an Executive Trainer for Applied Card Systems; he worked at Office Depot and Xerox Companies until his second retirement in 2009. He currently serves as the Director of Education, New Converts and Facility and Care Maintenance. Vincent is married to Gladys Dorsett, Ministry Liaison, Finance Secretary, and Special Programs Director.
Anthony Grisby, Deacon, Lake Ida Church of Christ
Deacon Anthony Grisby was added to the church in 1963 at the 15th Street church of Christ, Delray Beach, Florida. After college, he was signed as a free agent with the Washington Redskins, then to the Kansas City Chiefs. Anthony returned to Miami, Florida, while employed with the Dade County School System as a mathematics, civics, and physical education teacher for ten years. Anthony also worked for ten years in the Juvenile Justice System. After working a total of twenty years with the youth, he returned to Delray Beach, where he rededicated his life to Christ at the Lake Ida Church of Christ, where he met and married his beautiful wife, Carolyn in 1996. I was ordained Deacon by Dr. C.L. Spivey in 2004. I serve on the Finance, Baptism, Usher, Sick and Shut In, Visitation, Care, Facility Maintenance, and Education Ministries.
Kenneth Harvey Hill, Jr., Deacon, Lake Ida Church of Christ
Deacon Kenneth Harvey Hill Jr. is a Delray Beach Native born and raised in the Church of Christ. Deacon Hill served time in the United States Navy, and shortly after his return home, he married his high school sweetheart Shriell Y. Hill. The two have been married for 37 years and have four children (in order) Anthony S. Hill, Stephon J. Hill, Keenen J. Hill and Kendel J. Hill. Deacon Hill currently works for the United States Postal Services where he has been a letter carrier for over 30 years. In his free time Deacon Hill enjoys spending time with his family in any way possible. Deacon Hill has served Lake Ida Church of Christ for about 15 years as a deacon and in this time he has served on several committees such as the Praise team, the youth committee where he created a children‘s choir called “The Little Believers”, the sick and shut–in committee where he, other deacons and sometimes members would visit with members who were unable to attend service to sing, pray and administer communion to them until COVID–19, just to name a few. Deacon Hill serves his church and church family in any way he can, with love, wisdom, faith, and prayer. Deacon Hill believes everyday God allows you to wake up is another day you have to bless someone‘s life, and he lives through this quote, “Every day is a new adventure, just trust in God to guide you through it”.

Next Steps is a two-week class that is offered on Sunday mornings during various times of the year for Lake Ida guests and new members who are interested in learning more about the church. The class is designed as a relaxed atmosphere with ample opportunities for guests to ask questions.
